Cecile Ducreux has been based in Hong Kong since 1994.

Originally from France, she was exposed at a very early age to different cultures, having lived in Western Africa. After finishing her studies in Taipei in 1992/93, she made a conscious and motivated choice to establish her life in Hong Kong,

She quickly became a successful entrepreneur, dedicating herself to building her business, while simultaneously developing an eye for Asian art and aesthetics.

Through her travels and cultural exploration, she has learned to see, feel and witness the many beauties of the world as well as fascinating cultural differences. 

Having an artistic side from a young age, (whether it was drawing, painting, sketching), she has always been attracted by visual art, light, colours, shapes and patterns, through photography in particular. Her Bali recent work is illustrating the rich Balinese culture and its beautiful people.

Self-taught at first, she started to dive deeper into her photography through a mentorship with a HK based photographer; this experience connected her with different photography techniques, and she learned to express herself while developing her own style. 

The last few years, she dived deeper into the many aspects of Hong Kong street photography. Deeply connected with the city, Cecile is attracted by light, details, moments and cultural identity, all of which she is expressing through her work.

She is also embarking on different horizons whenever possible … be it a new country, its people or even new photography projects. Most recently she has been exploring and experimenting with abstract photography. She always genuinely wants to share the many beauties of our world and evoke emotion through her photography.
